Fencing Equipment Required For Foil

 

For Practice:                      Mask, glove, jacket, foil ($110-140)
For Electric Scoring:          Add:  lame’, body cord and electric foil ($120-150)
For Competition:               Add:  knickers, socks, underarm protection, a second body cord and 2nd electric foil ($110-160), Plastic chest protector (required for females, availible for males) ($35)

 

The fencing uniform should be form fitting, comfortable and free of unnecessary wrinkles against which a point may snag. Most long pants will work for practice along with most common sports shoes.

 

No special equipment required for beginners. After four or five lessons, if you decide to continue, you should get your own basic practice gear. Coaches can help with suggested vendors, sizing, etc. Club discounts are availible for some vendors.
